1) Name: The 6th ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy (UGRA)

6) Overview:
KAIST conducted the 6th ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy (UGRA) on its main campus in Daejeon, South Korea on the theme “Better Living: Innovations and Technologies to Improve Lives” from June 30th (Sun.) to July 5th (Fri.) 2019. This was the third consecutive ASPIRE UGRA conducted by KAIST. The program was first launched in 2014 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
A total of 13 students from ASPIRE League member universities participated in the 2019 ASPIRE UGRA. The program was designed for undergraduate students currently working on research projects related to the program theme. During the course of the program, participating students took turns presenting their research and receiving feedback from KAIST lecturers and fellow UGRA participants. KAIST faculty members Professors KIM Young Chul and KIM Ayoung, both experts on Urban Design and Planning, each provided a special lecture. An excursion day was held in the middle of the program, and participants visited major research laboratories doing work related to Better Living and gained exposure to case studies. The program enabled participants to learn about the latest developments in the research related to Better Living , and students enjoyed many opportunities to improve their communication, presentation, creative-thinking and problem-solving skills.
